ABOUT AL GATTOSAGGIO
Al Gattosaggio is first and foremost our home, which we have renovated and managed with care and great attention to the environmental impact.
Crossing its threshold, one perceives that it is a special place, where relaxation, gastronomy, culture, and nature find their balance to give our guests a great experience.
We are located in the beautiful setting of Montecarlo, a medieval village whose territory is renowned for the fine production of wine and extra virgin olive oil.
Our four rooms are surrounded by the absolute quiet of an olive grove of approximately one hectare; a large and bright veranda overlooking the garden embraces our guests during breakfast.
We love nature, we do love animals and ours is by choice a pet-friendly structure.

therefore very precious;
whether you are traveling alone or with your children,
we would like the time you spend with us to be a wonderful experience to be taken back home.
Therefore, our offer has been enriched by proposals developed with local excellences and aimed at helping you enjoy your stay to the fullest.
Breakfast and surroundings
Al gattosaggio breakfast is a very special moment in which
our guests are pampered with delicacies that we prepare every morning in our kitchen.
But snacks for the little ones
and aperitifs for the grown-up
are also delicious moments
for our guests available upon request.
The green spaces
Al gattosaggio is surrounded by a large, completely fenced olive grove where, in addition to the swimming pool and its solarium, there is a wooden playground area as well as areas dedicated to relaxation. Broadness of the space allows you to search for and enjoy moments of quiet and tranquillity, such as reading a book in the shade of our beautiful linden tree (Tiglio).

Montecarlo is a hill surrounded by breathtaking views.
Accompanied by expert guides, we can organize hikes of varying difficulty and duration, either designed for family needs or to match experienced hikers' desires, in any case, to allow you to discover the beauty that surrounds us.
Free Wifi
Being disconnected from the world today is a true luxury and we encourage you to do so as much as possible, at least during your vacation. However, should the need arise, you may rest assured our rooms are wired
and equipped with Wifi.
Workshops for children
For our younger guests and upon request, we organize creative workshops (including, papier mache, wooden puppets, clay workshops) or nature discovery workshops.
In the meanwhile, mum and dad can indulge in the swimming pool, can enjoy a cocktail, or can take the chance to go hiking.
Daily Housekeeping
Our rooms are cleaned every morning by qualified personnel who guarantee compliance with strict hygiene and safety protocols.
A washing machine for the exclusive use of guests is available on the premises.
Massages and holistic treatments
At gattosaggio offers its guests the opportunity to experiment with massages and holistic treatments
to reconnect to their center and balance, eliminate accumulated stress, or simply feel in harmony
with their body and relaxing the muscles tired from
a long excursion.
Tastings
Montecarlo is renowned for the production of extra virgin olive oil and wine as well as for being the seat of the smallest wine DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) in Italy. We organize tastings at local producers, many of which are easily reachable on foot.
FAMILY HOLIDAY, EMBRACE REAL REST AND FUN
The holiday starts with luggage preparation and we would like you to start off
on the right foot.
Our rooms are thus ready to become a comfortable and functional space
to best accommodate our youngest guests, so that you can travel light,
bringing with you only the essentials.
Upon request, each room has child-friendly equipment including:
cot, bottle warmer, kettle, baby bath, changing table, potty or toilet reducer,
bath stool, high chair.
Should any additional equipment be needed, please let us know before your arrival.
However, our special attention to families does not end here.
Our goal is to offer our families a real rest, without complications and carefree.
Especially on vacation, parents need opportunity to disconnect from time to time and enjoy the moment.
We have therefore developed a range of activities designed specifically for families, to be experienced either together as a group or separately: workshops and activities for children while parents enjoy a massage, a romantic aperitif, or a hike in the woods.

WHY MONTECARLO DI TOSCANA?
Set on a hill 162 meters above sea level, Montecarlo di Lucca is a picturesque and beautifully preserved medieval village located between Lucca (16 km; about 30 minutes by car), Pisa (45 km; about 40 minutes by car), and Florence (66 km; about 60 minutes by car).
The village was built around 1333 as a fortified outpost at the behest of the Lucca government and the Emperor Charles IV of Bohemia, and, for centuries, it was the scene of the dispute between Pisa, Lucca, and Florence.
These centuries of history have left rich testimonies on the Land and have enriched the village with a splendid perfectly preserved fortress.
What is most striking about Montecarlo is the care with which the village has been preserved and the attention with which the territory has been cultivated with vineyards and olive groves.
This generosity and dedication have given rise to excellent products and the smallest Italian wine DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin).
